There are several things to consider when weighing out the if the cost of soy oil roof rejuvenation is worth it. First, are you are hiring an applicator or doing it yourself? If hiring a pro, who you hire to apply it matters.
DIY, Applying Yourself
This is a no brainer and may be the reason you are visiting the site now. When applying yourself it IS DEFINETLY WORTH the cost. Below, we will review what some of the major applicators charge. We think most overcharge, just going to get that out there right now. When applying the product yourself the cost is literally 5% the cost of a new roof if that! Studies are showing one application when done correctly can add 5 years to the life of your roof! Even if you pay a buddy to help or have to bug a family member, it is still a no brainer. Please be careful out there and if you have a difficult roof, by all means, hire a professional. But do not overpay, see below for more information on hiring a pro.
Hiring a Pro
We are going to go over a few ways to make sure you are not over paying when hiring a Pro!
- Stay Away From Franchises
- Dealership Fees Mean Extra Overhead
- Not All Treatments Are Equal
- Know Your SF Numbers
- Check out Our List of Applicators
That’s Right, Franchises SUCK, but Why?
Franchises charge there customers huge sums of money to get going. And their customers are not YOU, the end user. Franchises customers are the guys applying the treatments in this case. After they charge them big bucks they keep charging them over, and over again to buy product at a higher then typical price. It really is a shame. But good news, you now have many other options then hiring the big named franchise companies. Franchises models are charging anywhere from $1.10 to $1.40 per SF for roof renewal using soy oil treatments.
Dealership Fees are Again, No Good for You
The next to worse option is Dealerships. Dealerships are charged a lower entry fee. However, the support is lackluster. Dealerships are required to purchase product only from the company they lined up with. All this means over charging the end user unfortunately. Dealership model roof treatment companies usually charge somewhere around $1 per SF.
Are All Soy Oil Roof Treatments the Same?
When applying SoyFuze or using a contractor that applies SoyFuze, you know what you are getting. Whether mixing yourself (see Mixing and Spraying) or hiring a pro that uses SoyFuze it all comes pure. Please read our article, and understand the state it ships in before any water is mixed in (Pure Oil HERE). A diluted soy oil is easy to spot. Dilution is necessary for proper absorption, but to what degree they are diluted is very important. Soy percentage information may not disclosed in franchise and dealership models. What a bummer!
Knowing Your Numbers and SF Pricing & The Cost of Soy Oil Roof Rejuvenation
The makers of SoyFuze are also professional applicators and charge in the .60 to .75 depending on difficulty. Most times that is almost HALF the franchise and other applicators pricing. It is true, professional spray system installs, insurance costs, and safety concerns exist when working on roofs. However, some of these companies really are bordering on ripping off customers and we don’t think it is good. Our goal is for it to be accessible to all, the more home owners seeing the benefit for themselves, then more home owners will understand the value we have here.
